If you’re planning to join us for the Fairytale Ball, why not treat it as a full enchanted weekend in the seaside town of Blackpool? With its glittering lights, rich dance-heritage and magical venues, it’s the perfect backdrop for a story-like escape.

Why Blackpool is the Ideal Fantasy Ball Town

It’s no accident that Blackpool feels made for dancing and ballroom magic. This town boasts a world-famous ballroom dance legacy every year the Blackpool Dance Festival gathers thousands of ballroom couples in the heart of town.
And that’s not all — Blackpool regularly plays host to special episodes of the beloved TV show Strictly Come Dancing at its iconic ballrooms, cementing its status as a ball-goer’s destination.
So when you arrive in the Fairytale Ball wearing your courtly finery, you’re stepping into a place where every floorboard and chandelier seems prepared for enchantment.
The Venue: Winter Gardens Blackpool (and It’s fairytale ball themed halls)
Our ball is set within the famed Winter Gardens complex — a venue full of history, splendour and dance heritage.
Here’s why it’s especially fitting:
As described on the venue’s own site: it is a place “pivotal to the development of Ballroom dancing and has hosted dance Festivals for over 90 years … the number-one worldwide venue for Ballroom Dancing.”
Winter Gardens’ ballroom and halls have hosted a huge range of events: from dance festivals and championships to film screenings and major exhibitions.
The grandeur of the space — high ceilings, ornate detailing, sweeping dance-floors adds that “fairytale ball” atmosphere that we adore.
In short, when you step into Winter Gardens, you step into a venue that knows how to host stories of courtly dance, magic and celebration.
Itinerary for Your Fairytale Ball Weekend

Friday Night – We’re kicking things off early! A themed pre-ball night out is being organised in our Discord server. It’s a friendly chance to meet fellow guests, talk costumes, arrange travel and get into the spirit.
Saturday (Ball Day) – Begin with a large meal to gather energy for the day ahead. Then prepare your fantasy ball look and head off to the Winter Gardens for an evening of elegant guided dances, polished costumes and shimmering magic. Expect side quests, photo-booths, trinket trading, magical performances and music by a live string quartet (plus of course the grand finale!).
Sunday – After last night’s enchantment, why not join a casual brunch or meet-up with other guests before you head home? It’s a lovely way to share memories and say “until next time”.
Why This Weekend Works

The location itself evokes old-world glamour, fantasy and dance-rituals.
With Blackpool’s deep dance roots, you’ll feel part of a tradition of ball-gowns and waltzes.
The Winter Gardens venue gives you a setting as beautiful and atmospheric as your costume.

Tips for Making the Most of the Weekend

Book your accommodation early, especially around prime venues like Winter Gardens - to be close and avoid travel stress. As with all events, we also recommend pre booking or arranging transport if you are not close to the venue.
Use our Discord to coordinate travel, outfits and meet-ups - others will be travelling from far and wide and happy to help.
Bring an outfit that fits your character persona and the fairytale theme - an elegant gown, masked look, or fae-court attire.
Map out a few things to see in Blackpool outside the ball (bookshops, seaside strolls, promenade) so you enjoy the full weekend.
On ball day, get ready with time to spare — dress up, savour your meal, take a moment to gather your thoughts before you step into the grand event.
